Phaseolus vulgaris

This bush bean is gorgeous, with a mottled raspberry shell. Growing to about 18" tall and 20" wide, these heavy producers contain 4-8 beans per pod. They can be harvested young and eaten fresh, or harvested when mature as dry beans. They are primarily a bush bean, but can have a tendency to wander, so they can do with a bit of support.

A happy accident that became a breeding project and then a stable variety at Sweet Rock Farm on Gabriola Island, Fiesta appears to have kidney beans in its lineage.
