Wisconsin SMR-58

Cucumis sativus

Developed at the University of Wisconsin in 1959, this cucumber will continue to fruit for several months and supply growers with pickling sized cucumbers for as long as desired, if the vines are kept picked. It would likely do very well on a trellis, but we grew ours outdoors in the Cariboo without a trellis and had great yields until the first frost for two consecutive seasons. These cukes make great pickles using the hot water bath method or in a fermentation crock. 55 Days.
