Tropaeolum majus

A Bright Farm specialty selected for many bi-colour combinations of oranges, reds, and yellows. Vibrant, large flowers (2-3in) on robust trailing plants. We grow them for adding an eye catching splash of edible colour to our salads. One of the best edible flowers you can grow, not just technically edible, but actually delicious. Slightly spicy flavour similar to a radish with a drop of sweet nectar in the centre. The leaves are edible as well, with more of the spiciness. Great in pesto. The newly formed, still tender, seeds are a kitchen delicacy, use like you might a caper.

Remember to always leave a few flowers for the hummingbirds and bees, because it's nice to share!
